Shiina's Past Part 1

One snowy and dark day in winter, a young girl was born. She had hair as blue as the evening sky and eyes as red blood. Little did her parents know, she would change their lives forever.

*Five years later*

Shiina stepped outside into the forest that surrounded her small home, which was actually a Shinto temple that had broken down a long time ago. She heard footsteps approaching and turned around. Her red eyes stared into the pitch-black eyes of her father. "You have a brother," he said quietly. "Taki." The young five year old narrowed her eyes and looked at the ground. Her father, said nothing, and almost melting into the shadows, disappeared. After she left, Shiina looked out into the dark forest, and wondered what could be behind all of those dense trees. One day, she thought to herself. One day I will leave this place and explore the world. Inside the temple a baby cried.

One year later, Shiina still remained in the dark domain of her parents, but was sent a little sister by the name of Natsushi. Unlike her and Taki, Natsushi had silver hair and black eyes like their father. Taki and Shiina both had blue hair like their father. All of them trained daily, from dawn to dusk under the watchful eyes of their parents. Even Natsushi, who was still teetering around on her tiny legs. Of course, they did not know what they were training for, but if they disobeyed their parents the punishment would probably be worse than death. Day after day, they ran around the forest, leaping through the shadows and jumping through the trees, and throwing weapons at futons stuffed with straws. Nothing could have been more peaceful than that.....

"No! I don't want another one! Get rid of her!" A sharp female voice pierced the silence of the night. Shiina, who was now ten years old, and very alert even in her sleep, sat up and looked around. The moonlight was shining onto her siblings, but left her in the darkness of the night. Next door, her parents were arguing. Luckily, Taki and Natsushi both had non-sensitive ears so they remained asleep.
"I don't want two females! A weak male is already bad enough!" The voice continued.
"I don't kill kin," a lower voice growled in reply. "You know that."
"......." There was no reply from the Kasumi Natsumoto.
"Get her to kill the brat," came the suggestion from the other being. Shiina's eyes widened as she suddenly realized what was going on, and as she heard the agreement from her mother. She knew that there was no point in protesting, so she got up and slid the door leading to outside open. She slowly stepped out and made it to the edge of the forest before......A throwing needle pierced her hand to a tree, and she could just make a figure lurking in the shadows. "Where are you going?" it demanded.
